Assistant Teacher
Education/Knowledge/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED/CDA Desirable
- 2 years of experience working with in a child care setting desirable
Function:
- Meet expectations for delivering customer satisfaction and retentions.
- Ability to delegate tasks and to communicate with Lead teacher as needed
- Assist in provinf a quality program
- Demonstrate acceptable behavior
- May share Lead responsibilities with Lead teacher
- Complies with company policies and govermental regulation
- Keep Director/Lead Teacher informed of any necessary information regarding the care and safety of children
- Completes timely and accurate documentation according to company and other licensing or regulation requirements
- Sets professional example for other employees
- Assists any other of program needed
- Attends and participates in parent/staff meetings, training, and center events as requested
Requirements:
- Excellent organizational skills required
- Ability to be flexible in assignment, tasks and work hours required and respond quickly and appropriarely to changing environments. Scehdule is based on needs of program
- CPR/First Aid Certification abd Shaken Babay and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome training or willingness to obtain
- Housekeeping of work area
- For driving's, valid driver;s license, clean driving record, ability to drive center's vehicles
- Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills required. Must possess excellent visual and hearing capabilities in order to monitor the environment and children;s well being
- Optain 24 hours of child dvelopment focused training a year
- Adhere to dress code and all other company policies and procedures
- Is cross-train in all age groups in order to step in place of a teacher that might be absent
- Must be availble from the hours of 6:30am to 6:30pm
- Must understand that you are not guarantees 40 hrs of work per week and that your schedule may change at any point in time
This Job Requires Physical Work Inside/Outside and occasationally off site for filed trips
- Employee must be able to lift 40lbs continually through out day
- Stand up at least 95% of the day
- Stoop, sit on floor, bend to perform carious tasks through
- Have the agility to move from sitting to standing position promptly to respond to emergency situations
- Able to perform all actvities with children, example: jump, dance, walk, ren, etc. for extended period of time
- Sustain High level of energy throughout day
- Assume posture in low level positions that best allow physical and visual contact with children
- Depending upon activity, both indoor and outdoor activities are a regular part of routine day, employee must be able tp spend prolonges time outdoors
- Must be able to excel in continuously changing environment
