JOB SUMMARY:
Under general direction assists in the repair and adjustments of water meters in varying sizes and serves as back up for the Meter Services Worker in the field.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Ability to assist in the repair, replacement or adjustment of large meters (3" to 10" in size) and medium size meters (1 1/2" to 2" in size).
2. Ability to assist in performance of meter accuracy testing, pressure/flow testing, installation or replacement of meter vaults.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
3. Ability to serve as backup for Meter Service Worker, turning on water service for new customers, turning off closed or delinquent accounts and recording meter readings for final billings.
4. Ability to respond to emergency calls for assistance; investigate customer complaints related to pressure/flow, leaks or high consumption.
5. Ability to perform scheduled change-outs of aged or malfunctioning meters; repair reported defects and clear impediments at the metering site.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifying Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or GED, plus 6 months experience in the field of labor or any equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
