Summary: Blending Technicians work in the “kitchen of the plant” batching product according to written

procedures and customer formulas. They clean and sanitize equipment, mix batches, drive a forklift, maintain

documentation, properly allocate inventory to batches, routinely complete master sanitation tasks, and uphold

the highest of quality standards while ensuring the facility’s production lines always have product available for

packaging.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Mix formulas according to written procedures.

• Follow direction of blending leadership pertaining to batching schedule, housekeeping items, and

additional duties/tasks.

• Clean/sanitize various pieces of equipment.

• Prior to beginning each batch, verify ingredients for correct quantities, item numbers, expiration dates,

quality, etc.

• Complete required documentation, including, but not limited to: Batch Sheets, Blending Instructions,

Master Sanitation Schedule, Trailer Transfer Sheets.

• Maintain traceability and inventory integrity by allocating the ingredients used in each batch using Data

Collection programs.

• Log CIP (Clean In Place) operations on equipment.

• Assist Lead Blending Technician and Blending Supervisor as needed.

• Transport ingredients via forklift.

• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.

• Complete tasks listed on Master Sanitation Schedule at least at minimum required frequencies.

• Interact with auditors, customers, and government officials in a professional and polite manner.

• Knowledge of, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Processes.

• Properly dispose of ingredient packaging materials.

• Break down and re-build ingredient kits to accommodate last minute changes.

• Weigh “partial ingredients”, label appropriately, and reseal with tamper evident tape.

• Participate in batch approval process, assist in root cause analysis of out of spec batches.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma required; One year certificate from college or technical school preferred; or three to six

months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

conditions. The employee is also exposed to varying temperatures extremes including heat and cold as the

particles, or with toxic or caustic chemicals. This employee is frequently exposed to work near moving

mechanical parts and exposed to vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
